Frequently Asked Questions
The cost for counseling ranges between $175 and $199 per session.
I accept cash, Venmo, all major credit cards, HSA and FSA. I also accept Bishop pay and would be happy to discuss this more if needed.
My office is predominantly self-pay, meaning I am not in-network with most insurance plans and most clients pay out of pocket. Some of my clients are able to save money with reimbursement from their insurance company even though I am out-of-network. This happens through a document called a Superbill that I would be happy to supply you with. Please ask me about this option if you're interested in learning more.
You can schedule an appointment with me by calling 801-923-8492 or emailing me at tiffany@brightenwellnesscounseling.com.

Yes! I offer virtual therapy services, which allows you to engage in counseling from the comfort of your own space. Virtual sessions offer flexibility and are done with a secure and confidential link through an electronic health record system called Simple Practice.
Frequency of sessions is discussed between you and your therapist during your first session. This is typically determined based on your goals and type of support you are wanting from your therapist.
I am not licensed to prescribe medications but I work closely with trusted providers in the area, and can refer you to those providers who specialize in medication management.
In general, the law protects the confidentiality of all communications between a client and therapist. No information is disclosed without prior written permission from the client. However, there are some legal exceptions to this rule. Exceptions include:
- Suspected child abuse or dependent adult or elderly abuse. I am required to report this to the appropriate authorities immediately.
- If a client is threatening serious bodily harm to another person. I am required to notify the police.
- If a client intends to harm himself or herself. I will make every effort to work with the individual to ensure their safety. However, if an individual does not cooperate, additional measures may need to be taken.
Under section 2799B-6 of the Public Health Service Act, health care providers are required to inform individuals, who are not enrolled in an insurance plan or not seeking to file a claim with their plan, an estimate of expected charges for medical services. When you begin therapy, Tiffany will supply you with a Good Faith Estimate reviewing what you can expect to pay for your services.
